Charlie is helping…

Charlie has a vested interest in the Dahlia Vale books, mostly because he is a main character in them. I have to check in with him about his thoughts on certain actions his character takes to be sure they’re authentic, from his canine point of view. For instance, there was a scene where Dahlia and Charlie came back into the inn after a long afternoon spent roaming Saltcliff on the Sea, looking for clues and talking to the townspeople there.

I had Charlie coming in and immediately flopping down for a nap, but he reminded me that this probably isn’t what he’d do. Instead, now Taco Dog comes in, laps up a bunch of water in a very noisy and messy fashion, and then noses around the lobby for any crumbs guests might have dropped at breakfast. Once that is all finished, THEN he flops down for a nap. And he reminded me to add the snuffling / snoring.

Charlie is very detail oriented.
